The Music Department of Community Church of Davie is directed by Wesley Pennington and consists of four main branches - The Handbell Choir, the Praise Team, and the Soloists.
The Handbell Choir is a long-time tradition of Davie. The Handbell Ringers perform for special services as well as for the Sunday Morning Services once a month when feasible. The Handbell Choir has also been privileged to perform for events outside of the church walls. The handbell choir currently is a three octave configuration with 12 ringers with an added bell capacity for five octaves. We welcome new ringers to our group. Music reading ability is certainly helpful, but not absolutely necessary.
The Praise Team is the musical expression for the 10 AM Worship Service. The team consists of four singers and a Praise Band comprised of keyboard, drums and multiple guitarists! The Praise Team rehearses at 8AM on Sunday (prior to the service). The style of music is contemporary with a rock/gospel flavor. We welcome those who have musical talents to share them with us.
The Soloists are singers and musicians who have the gift of solo performance. We feature our "home-grown" talent at most services on a rotational basis. These performers put in extra time and display a character of reliability to offer their gifts to the church services. We appreciate their work and enjoy their gifts!
